Yes, I often think of myself as a digital purest. You know the person that believes in using technology, tools and channels in the manner in which they were intended to be used. For example, you don’t use a database provider to design your website; you use a tool that was built to properly support such a development.
How about you don’t use your camera phone to take video and think you’re going to get production quality video. One more you don’t use your YouTube channel to post slideshows that's why we have channels like SlideShare.
I have found over the years in this industry the best long-term approach to digital is not necessarily being a purest but darn close to it. Why is this? Because if you don’t you will find yourself fixing it later or even worse having to start over.
Some platforms, tools and channels are made to be stretched and some are not. Be wise in how you select them, because once you’re in you've got to manage it. In this day of public access to information an effective use of channels is highly important and the selection of tools and platforms that drive, house and organize our information is even more critical.
So do yourself a favor and think long-term when considering where to place your digital bets.
